Happy Thanksgiving

This week we have the opportunity for a moment, just before the busyness of the holiday season takes over, to stop and give thanks. Here at the FRC we are thankful for a beautiful new building and a great school year thus far. As the voices of singing children fill the JELV halls, we are thankful for their smiling faces and joyful hearts. We are also thankful for teachers, administrators, and staff who tirelessly pour their time and energy into JELV students.

LIHEAP energy assistance program is currently accepting applications. Contact Bluegrass Community Action at 885-3512 for more information.

The Nicholasville Firefighter's Toy Drive is accepting children ages 1 to 12. Phone calls can be made Tuedays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays (with the exception of Thanksgiving) between the hours of 11:00a.m. to 2:00p.m. Deadline to apply is December 9th.

FRC and Community Events

LIHEAP
As the weather gets colder and heating costs go up, it can put a strain on the family budget. Bluegrass Community Action is currently taking applications for the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). The program is desinged to offer assistance to low-income families for heating costs. It will be open for applications until December 10th. For more information please call 885-3512.

Holiday Assistance
Christmas decoractions are already lining the shelves in area stores and that means it is time again for Holiday Assistance! This program is intended to be a supplement to the gifts families provide for their children. Families with children who attend the village can stop by the FRC to sign up until November 19th. Vision Screenings
Children attending school for the first time are required by law to have a vision examination. November 28 through December 24 Dr. Bizer's ValuVision in Lexington is offering routine eye exams starting at just $1. For more information contact Nicholasville Road office at 278-2030 or the Hamburg Pavilion office at 543-8383.
